January 2025 Year 9 Winner: Thomas Rice
Reason:
Tom is a young man recognised at the school for his 100% diligence by all his teachers and peers. He was recognised frequently for outstanding work with Golden Tickets, the school reward scheme linking to the school production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A delight to teach, Tom will go far and deserves every success in the future.
February 2025 Year 8 Winner: Leah Benwell
Reason:
Leah won a Jack Petchey Achievement Award from Girl Guides.
September 2024 Year 10 Winner: Jessica Khan
Reason:
Jessica is a gem in her year group, showing a mature and responsible attitude towards her GCSE’s. She is supporting backstage in ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ developing leadership skills further. Her teachers are so complimentary about the qualities of kindness, thoughtfulness and having a thirst for knowledge which she possesses in abundance. An all-round great Jack Petchey winner!!
October 2024 Year 11 Winner: Ruby Varney
Reason:
Ruby received this accolade due to her outstanding commitment and passion for school, nominated by both peers and teachers alike. She is conscientious, strives on a challenge and spends time helping and encouraging others. Ruby is a true star of the year group and fully deserves this award.
October 2024 Year 13 Winner: Scarlett Towersey
Reason:
Scarlett can only be described as an outstanding member of Charles Darwin School. She diligently serves on the School Council, chairing this student group with integrity and maturity. We hope her significant efforts towards achieving A grades in her A Levels is rewarded. For the past seven years that she has been with us, she has been a true ambassador and an exemplary example to her peers. We wish her every success in her next steps.
November 2024 Year 8 Winner: Ivy Bird
Reason:
Ivy is described by her Head of Year as a wonderful member of the year group. She was an active Year 7 and Year 8 School Council member alongside her hard work and kindness and generosity to others in lessons. She is a committed performer in our school productions, dancing in both The Little Mermaid and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She is described by her teachers as being a remarkable student, unfailingly courteous, polite and always approaching school life with a smile! A very worthy winner.
