Charles Darwin School

2024 GCSE Results day

As a comprehensive school we are proud of the achievements of all our students. Over 70% gained a grade 9-4 in English and in Maths this was 67%. We have supported all of our students through the transition to the next stage of their education, with the majority staying with us in our very successful 6th form.

Today we are celebrating many personal achievements, however we would like to mention a few students who have achieved exceptionally high grades:

Neve Ladd-Talbot – 3 grade 9; 4 grade 8; 2 grade 7 (100% 9 to 7)

Khushi Sinha- 1 grade 9; 5 grade 8; 3 grade 7 (100% 9 to 7)

Seun Olawoyin – 1 grade 9; 8 grade 3; 3 grade 7 (100% 9 to 7)

Alexander Hards – 2 grade 9; 3 grade 8; 1 grade 7; 3 grade 6

Callum Smart – 2 grade 8; 6 grade 7; 1 grade 6

Kayden Plinston – 4 grade 8; 3 grade7; 2 grade 6

Ethan Norsworthy – 3 grade 8s; 4 grade 7; 2 grade 5

Holly Kerr – 1 grade 9; 2 grade 8; 2 grade 7; 3 grade 6; 1 grade 5

Rex Amankwah-Antepim – 4 grade 8s; 1 grade 7; 4 grade 6s

Many of our students have made exceptional progress since joining us from primary school and they have fully embodied our school values are Aspire, Endeavour and Achieve, which is embedded in everything we do at Charles Darwin. We would like to recognise the following students who have made between 2 and 3 grades higher than the national progress.

Olivia Cuddy, Sasha Newton, Zara Lewis, Hannah Smithson and Emily Harris

Headteacher, Mr Aston Smith said,

“It is a great privilege to be able to celebrate the achievements of all our students. I am delighted to be able to welcome the majority of this year group back into our sixth form and for those that are moving on to apprenticeships or college places, I wish them the very best for the future. These results are testament to the dedication of our fantastic staff, the encouragement and support from the parents and of course the excellent attitude to learning shown by the students.”

Mrs Kelly, Assistant Headteacher who oversaw this year group added, “Like many students up and down the country Covid had a big impact on education and wider needs and I have really valued the support from our families in getting the best out of the students. Our families have been an absolute pleasure to work with. I look forward to following the progress of our students in the next stages of their education.”
